Thanksgiving bread is a unique twist on traditional stuffing for the holidays!

Thanksgiving bread is a fun twist on a standard for the holidays, that great American recipe, turkey stuffing. Now I'm not suggesting that this be made instead of stuffing. That would be crazy! I'm just saying that you will really impress members of your household when leftover turkey sandwiches are served on this savory bread. Let's get started... Ingredients * 4 1/2 cups flour (plus extra for kneading) * 1 Tbsp plus 1 tsp salt * 1 Tbsp minced fresh sage * 2 packs yeast * 1/4 cup warm water * 1/2 cup buttermilk * 1 1/2 Tbsp butter (room temp) * 1 yellow onion finely chopped * 1 stalk celery fine chop * 1 2/3 cup warm water

*Mix yeast in 1/4 cup warm water, set aside. *Mix together flour, salt and sage. *After 5 minutes, add yeast mix, buttermilk, butter and warm water to flour mix. *Bring together on slow speed in mixing bowl for about 2 minutes, then switch from paddle to dough hook for an additional 10 minutes. * add celery and onion and mix together for under a minute. *On a floured counter, knead (adding flour as needed after adding vegetables) until dough comes together. *Place in an oiled bowl, covered for 1 1/2 hours until doubled in size.

Divide dough in half and form 2 loaves, let rest for 10 minutes. Then place dough in oiled loaf pans and sprinkle flour on top. Cover with a towel and allow to rise another 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place pans in oven and bake for 50 minutes, rotating pans front to back and right to left after 25 minutes. Remove from oven to a rack and allow to cool. This is a savory bread that adds an extra dimension of flavor to your leftover turkey sandwiches. I think I'll have mine with a generous spread of mayo with some turkey breast and some cranberry sauce on the side. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
