Sourdough rolls rule!

The rolls featured here come from the "Cheese Board Collective Works". They are called 'wolverines' and are reminiscent of a good, crusty sourdough bread with dried fruit and chocolate. Add nuts if you like.

The truth is I made these because I had my starter ready to go, but I didn't want to make another loaf of sourdough bread - I wanted to try something different, and I'm really glad that I did. I took 1 portion of sourdough through the kneading stage and 5 hours rising and added 1/2 cup golden raisins, 1/4 cup currants and 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips. I then divided the dough into 12 portions and formed it as small buns, letting it rise another few hours.

Into a 450 degree oven for 35-40 minutes with lots of misting and spritzing to form that crunchy crust we all enjoy. These are treats you will remember and enjoy for a long time. Split them in 1/2, toast and slather with cream cheese, jam or your favorite accompaniment.
