Lemon mint tea from your garden...

Lemon mint tea sure sounds good doesn't it? I would say so, and I made some recently from plants growing in my front yard. It all started when I was reading an article about tissanes; herbal drinks made from a variety of dried ingredients. I had read that Alice Waters, chef and food goddess from Chez Panisse Restaurant, made a tissane for a reporter doing an interview with her. That's a great idea, I thought. I grow herbs in a container and flower bed, but had not found a use for them until now.

Great stuff and just right for the cold weather coming soon. Harvest the herbs, dry them, strip the leaves into a bowl. Add a handful to a cup and pour boiling water over them. A few minutes later - it's a tissane, baby!
