Dogbiscuits - for mans best friend

Dogbiscuits is actually 2 words, I know. Humor me for now. I enjoy baking for my family, which includes Freddie, our 10 year old mix breed wonderdog. So in my search for some guidelines for dog biscuits, I looked online and found a simple, healthy recipe with just 7 ingredients.

dog treats made with peanut butter...

Baking dogbiscuits: start with 2 cups whole wheat flour, 1 cup corn meal, 2/3 cup wheat germ, 2/3 cup brewers yeast, 2 eggs, 2 tsp. garlic powder and 1 cup chicken bouillion (1 cup hot water and 3 bouillion cubes).

Hey, I should eat this healthy! Mix the dry ingredients and separately mix the bouillion in hot water. Add the wet stuff and eggs to the dry and mix to bring it all together. Roll out the dough and punch out treats in your favorite shape. Then, just 20 minutes at 375 degrees does the trick - leave them in the oven after you turn it off to harden them.

pet food recall won't affect these dogbiscuits!

These biscuits are very easy to make and Fred does enjoy them. In fact, my dog groomer sampled them to her clients pooches and with one exception, the treats were received with open mouths and wagging tails.

So the next time you want to thank that very special 4 legged family member, just turn on the oven, get out your mixing bowl, and make it happen! Bow-wow!!!

To be fair, the star shape isn't his favorite. He really enjoys the "gingerbread man" shape -round edges and all. I wonder why? Feel free to share your favorite recipe - for man or beast - by using the contact button on my home page.

Now go turn on the oven ....... It's time to bake!
